My 3 years of college OVER

So today was the LAST day of me being a student at Fanshawe College, and I would have to say that these past 3 years of school have, in a way, helped me grow, not just as a person, but as an Artist as well. I've learned so much from this program that if I did not attend college I would still be doing the same kitschy gothy shit that I use to do when I was in high school. I've established myself as an Artist. Its what I want to do, I can't handle a regular job, so working for my self is my best option at this point. I do know that I want to continue on to university, NSCAD is where I want to be in the next year. This past year, working on my own body of work has made me open my eyes, not only to the art world but to the little things that are all around us, I appreciate things more, like the way the wind blows in the tall grass outside my house, and how the light pollution from the city clouds my eyes to the stars, and how clean the air is when im home.

like I said in my other blog, its the little things i'll miss, like waking up in my room, walking to the studio in the morning and leaving late at night. Being able to do what I want when I want. my freedom.

to be continued....

this is a picture of me before i started painting, Dustin took this because it matched my hair.. lol i spent the whole night painting and it still wasnt finished when 9am rolled around. It got to the point where it looked finished but to me it wasnt. needed more. After i "finished" it i went home and showered, if i went and had a nap like i was going to, there would be no way of me getting my final display ready in time for grading. so shower then back to studio. it was worth it tho. my final display looked great and since i planned it out before hand i had plenty of time to dick around haha not to mention stabbing myself with a drill..
